Purpose
To control and manage Computer-Aided Design (CAD) data and related databases for Diagnostic Systems.
To support the project in the configuration and interface control related to dedicated zones or components.
To support the Department Responsible Officer (RO) in relation to their component(s) or system(s) concerning the integration aspects and CAD quality over the entire lifecycle (from design to manufacturing and installation).
To support the project in performance & quality measurement of the CAD activities.
Main duties / Responsibilities
•CAD activities:
-Ensures the quality of CAD data and database structures related to the component or system;
-Assists the Section Leader in the resource distribution of Designers and coordination of their design activities;
-Implements CAD Work and Data Procedures, CAD Manual, processes and procedures;
-Organizes / participates in kick-off meetings;
-Follows-up the design including interface analysis & management, data structure & meta-data checking, Product Breakdown Structure (PBS) implementation, etc;
-Exchanges CAD data and related interactions with ITER Partners;
-Identifies system malfunctions;
-Interacts with the Division Catalogues and auxiliary Division-related activities;
-Pilots activities to assess, develop and deploy new software and migration;
-Contributes to training, coaching and development of methodologies, related guides and the CAD Manual.
-Enforces the coherence between Detailed Models (DM) and Configuration Models (CM).
-Supports the RO in interactions with External Contributors regarding CAD activities;
-Enforces the system design coherence between 2D schematics and 3D system layout and relative reference numbering;
-Ensures the proper use of Equipment & Systems functions and the standard parts from the catalogues.
•Integration activities:
Contributes to:
-The configuration, integration control, reports on interface issues, resolving possible clashes between systems/components and suggesting solutions;
-The integration for dedicated zones/areas including the context definition emphasizing on the baseline models related to the phase of the project;
-Change Management (drafting/approval/versions/options);
-The long-term knowledge of the CM & DM.
Develops & maintains the CM (assisted by the CAD Designers) with Design Integration Section (DIN) supervision.
•Maintains a strong commitment to the implementation and perpetuation of the ITER Safety Program, values and ethics.
Measures of effectiveness
•Successfully provides an efficient and high quality service to the ITER Design Office and effectively contributes to the design development;
•Successfully develops further technical capabilities, flexibility, CAD tool control and team spirit;
•Successfully supports the objectives and interests of the ITER Project;
•Successfully establishes a good collaborative relationship with all involved internal and external organizations.

Level of experience
At least 5 years
Technical experience
–At least 4 years’ experience (including experience as Leading Designer) in a Plant and/or Mechanical Design Office in a multi-disciplinary project and preferably performed in a remote design collaboration environment;
–At least 3 years’ experience in the implementation of engineering activities in addition to specifically working on requirement definitions, conceptual, pre-detailed and detailed studies, definitions of complex interface systems, preliminary sizing, manufacturing specifications, contract monitoring, etc;
–Previous experience in the design of diagnostics systems; complex structures, preferably in fusion and/or nuclear energy involving large welded and bolted components and structures, support systems, circuits & buildings and complex interfaces would be an advantage;
–Demonstrated ability to produce high quality results which have stood the test of being manufactured, validated, installed and commissioned successfully;
–Knowledge of design analysis.
